We encourage girls to get involved in sport and support them to enjoy staying involved — creating inclusive, welcoming environments that celebrate girls, challenge stereotypes and support confidence, wellbeing and belonging.

This Girl Does Sport began with a simple but powerful realisation.

When my 10‑year‑old daughter joined a local girls’ football club, I saw first‑hand the challenges that both girls and their parents can face within a sporting environment that hasn’t always been designed with girls in mind. What should have been a positive experience sometimes felt intimidating, exclusionary, or lacking the support girls need to truly thrive.

It became clear that girls in sport don’t just deserve encouragement — they need spaces that genuinely welcome them, understand their experiences and support their confidence, wellbeing and enjoyment.

That realisation is what sparked This Girl Does Sport: a commitment to creating positive, inclusive sporting experiences where girls are supported to get involved, feel they belong, and enjoy staying involved for the long term..

This Girl Does Sport was founded by an aunt‑and‑niece duo with a shared passion for creating positive sporting experiences for girls.

Together, we created a platform that combines girl‑focused activewear with practical resources, guidance and a supportive community. Everything we do is designed to encourage girls into sport and support them to enjoy staying involved.

By bringing together wellbeing, confidence, mentorship and connection, This Girl Does Sport helps girls feel comfortable, capable and supported — so they can thrive both on and off the field.

The mission of This Girl Does Sport is to encourage girls into sport.

We work to create inclusive, welcoming spaces that challenge stereotypes and celebrate girls across all sports. Through girl‑focused activewear, practical resources, mentorship, education and a supportive community, we help girls and their families build confidence, wellbeing and positive experiences of sport.

By championing diversity and collaboration, we aim to foster a positive sporting culture where girls can develop teamwork, resilience and a lasting love of being active — on and off the field.
